American Association of University Women (AAUW) Awards 2020 Scholarship
Halle Barron from Westbrook, CT was unanimously selected by the AAUW Shoreline Branch as the recipient of its annual $2000 scholarship grant. In her scholarship application, Halle stated, “I am currently going into my junior year as a Nursing major, Spanish minor at Quinnipiac University. I have a passion for traveling and recently returned early from a semester abroad in Seville, Spain. At school, I love taking part in community service, such as helping at the Ronald McDonald House with my sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, and assisting with patient care of special needs children in Guatemala. One of my biggest educational goals is to maintain Dean’s List status in my rigorous nursing program. While I am keeping an open mind as I begin clinical rotations in the fall, I hope to one day work as a registered nurse in pediatrics or labor and delivery. I am honored and grateful to be the recipient of the 2020 AAUW Shoreline Scholarship. I admire AAUW’s values and hope to one day make a change to empower women….”
